Cubs player/manager Frank Chance had these uniforms made specially for the World Series. Unfortunately they were gray. The Cubs wore them for game one in Chicago, but the Detroit Tigers were wearing their road gray uniforms. Major League baseball ruled that the Cubs could not wear these uniforms and so they only wore them in game one.
